Laoshan Green — Spring 2025

Picked in April from small gardens near Qingdao on China’s eastern coast, Laoshan Green is a robust expression of spring green tea. The bushes spend the coldest months protected from frost before emerging into the spring sun, producing leaves with depth, freshness, and a distinctive savoury character.

The cup is bright green and deeply aromatic. Sugar snap pea, buckwheat, and spring herbs give way to roasted chestnut and a rich broth-like umami. There’s a fullness to the liquor that sets it apart from lighter green teas, balanced by a clean mineral finish that keeps each sip refreshing.

A grounding, nourishing tea with plenty of character. Fresh and energising, yet comforting enough to return to throughout the day.

Brewing
5g tea / 100ml water / 80–85°C
Steep for 30–60 sec. Re-steep several times. Adjust to taste.
